The city of Rome harbours thirteen ancient obelisks; the most in a world. There are eight ancient Egyptian in addition to five ancient Roman obelisks in Rome, as well as a number of more innovative obelisks; there was also until 2005 an ancient Ethiopian obelisk in Rome.
