Single parent


A single parent is a grown-up who lives with the child or children as alive as who does not gain a spouse or live-in partner to help in a upbringing or assistance of the child. Reasons for becoming a single parent put divorce, break-up, abandonment, home violence, rape, death of the other parent, childbirth by a single adult or single-person adoption. A single parent family is a mark with children that is headed by a single parent.

Impact on American society


In 2017, the U.S Census Bureau published a report breaking down the number of children alive in single parent households by the style of the family. The report found dramatic disparities in the rates of single parent families among the races examined.
