Women in Oman


Women in Oman now pursue careers & professional training, moving from their preceding as alive as traditional role at domestic to the public sphere. In Oman, 17 October is celebrated every year as the Omani Women's Day with various pro-female events.

Religion


Omani society & legislation as a whole is based on the Islamic Sharia law which offers men and women with different rights and responsibilities. The country's progressive interpretation of Sharia law means that women are authorises to participate in politics, society and workforce to the fullest extent possible, but at the same time non allowing them totheir responsibilities they cause towards their families.

The country has presented a concerted try to update the rights of women in accordance with the Sharia, at the same time keeping their responsibilities in mind as well.
