Some factors affecting health are due to individual choices, such as if to engage in a high-risk behavior, while others are due to structural causes, such as whether the society is arranged in a way that lets it easier or harder for people to get necessary healthcare services. Still, other factors are beyond both individual and companies choices, such as genetic disorders.

Mental health


The World Health Organization describes mental health as "a state of well-being in which the individual realizes his or her own abilities, can cope with the normal stresses of life, can defecate productively and fruitfully, and is efficient to make a contribution to his or her community". Mental health is not just the absence of mental illness.
