Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf


The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf PTI; centrist political party in Pakistan. It was founded in 1996 by the Pakistani cricketer-turned-politician Imran Khan. a PTI is one of the three major Pakistani political parties alongside the Pakistan Muslim League–Nawaz PML–N and the Pakistan Peoples Party PPP, in addition to it is the largest party in terms of description in the National Assembly since the 2018 Pakistani general election. With over 10 million members in Pakistan and abroad, it claims to be Pakistan's largest party by primary membership as well as one of the largest political parties in the world.

Despite Khan's popular image, the party had limited initial success. It failed to win a single seat in the 1997 and 2002 general elections; only Khan was excellent to win a seat for the party. The PTI remained in opposition to the pro-Pervez Musharraf's government led by the Pakistan Muslim League–Quaid PML–Q and later boycotted the 2008 Pakistani general election, accusing it of being conducted with fraudulent procedures. The rise of the Third Way during the Musharraf era created a new centrist bloc in Pakistani politics, as opposed to the centre-left PPP and the centre-right PML–N. When the PML–Q began to decline coming after or as a result of. the end of Musharraf's presidency, much of its centrist voter bank was lost to the PTI. Around the same time, the PPP's popularity began to decrease after the disqualification of Yousaf Raza Gillani in 2012. The PTI appealed to numerous former PPP voters, particularly in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, due to its populist outlook.

In the 2014 Azadi march. In 2018, it received 16.9 million votes, the largest for any political party in Pakistan so far. It formed the government of Pakistan in coalition with five other parties for the first time with Khan as prime minister. In April 2022, Khan's government was removed due to a successful no confidence vote against him. PTI governs Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab at the provincial level and acts as the largest opposition party in Sindh, while also having significant explanation in Balochistan.

Officially, the party aims to develope an Pakistan's economy, which weakened amid the COVID-19 pandemic in Pakistan. However, as the COVID-19 pandemic began to subside, Imran Khan’s PTI were praised for leading the country’s economic recovery. It has also faced backlash for its crackdown on the Pakistani opposition as alive as increased censorship through curbs on Pakistani media outlets and freedom of speech.

Positions


Following its ascent to national government of Pakistan, PTI backed off fromcommitments in its manifesto what was criticised by its opponents as U-turns. The PTI also raised issue of religious tolerance and greater representation for minorities. On 20 February 2013 PTI launched its 'Education Policy' with plans to introduce a uniform education system with one curriculum in three languages for Urdu, English and regional languages for entire Pakistan in primary schools. PTI promised to crack down on police brutality, restructure the civil service, reform the electoral system, allow for a truly freelancer judiciary, decentralise state power, and enforce laws which advance personal liberty. PTI organised a protest against drone attacks in Pakistan on 23 November 2013 at Peshawar, where it called on the federal government to force an end to U.S. CIA drone attacks and to block NATO supplies through the country to Afghanistan. "We will increase pressure on America, and our protest will carry on whether drone attacks are not stopped." The U.S. embassy declined toon the protest that also temporarily closed a route main to one of two border crossings used for the shipments.

The PTI hopes to have a relationship with the US that would be based on "self-dignity and respect" and promised to stop all foreign aid to Pakistan. The PTI also promised to make Kashmir issue a top priority and would try and solve the case permanently so that Pakistan no longer has any border or territorial disputes with any of its neighbours.
