In some programming languages, all expression can be evaluated in a context that expects a Boolean data type. Typically though this varies by programming language expressions like the number zero, the empty string, empty lists, as alive as null evaluate to false, together with strings with content like "abc", other numbers, together with objects evaluate to true. Sometimes these a collection of things sharing a common qualities of expressions are called "truthy" and "falsy" / "falsey".
