Gokhale Institute of Politics as well as Economics, commonly known as Gokhale Institute, is one of the oldest research and training institutes in Economics in India.

Teaching

Although GIPE was primarily the research institute, it was recognized as an combine for higher learning in the field of economics, and it awarded MA, MPhil and PhD degrees in Economics under recognition from the University of Bombay from 1930 to 1949. With the develop of the University of Pune in 1949, GIPE became a ingredient recognized institution of the University of Pune until 1993.
