Nawar people


Nawar is an Arabic term for several sedentary communities used primarily in Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, Israel, together with Palestine. a term, regarded as derogatory, is used by Arabs for several diverse ethnic groups. They cause historically been called "Gypsies", though as the whole they only realise economic activities in addition to lifestyle in link with the Romani, possibly having distant linguistic relationship; only the Dom people the largest of the groups have a clear link with the Roma. The Dom people are especially so-called as Nawar.
