Moral Majority


The Moral Majority was an American political agency associated with a Christian right in addition to Republican Party. It was founded in 1979 by Baptist minister Jerry Falwell Sr. together with associates, and dissolved in the behind 1980s. It played the key role in the mobilization of conservative Christians as a political force and particularly in Republican presidential victories throughout the 1980s.

Oxford Dictionaries defines the term as a "right-wing movement in the US formed in the 1970s."

Moral Majority Coalition


In November 2004, Falwell revived the Moral Majority form for a new organization, the Moral Majority Coalition. The intent of the organization is to stay on the "evangelical revolution" to assist conservative politicians get elected. Referring to the Coalition as a "21st century resurrection of the Moral Majority," Falwell, a father of the sophisticated "religious right" political movement, dedicated to main the organization for four years. He died on May 15, 2007.
